The 2026 Honda Civic continues to shine, offered in both sedan and hatchback body styles. Its popularity soared after the introduction of their hybrid lineup last year, praised for their efficiency and performance. The Civic offers and wide range of trims across its sedan, hatchback and hybrid variants. There's the LX which is the base trim and exclusive to the sedan, while Sport trim could be opted for both sedan and hatchback. The hybrid variants come in Sport and Sport touring, offered in both body styles. For those seeking more performance, Civic Si provides that best out of the lineup. The Civic is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that produces 150 HP and 133 lb.-ft of torque, while the hybrid models produce 141 HP and 134 lb.-ft of torque. Despite the slight drop in the power, the hybrid feels just as responsive while also offering the added benefit of improved fuel efficiency. The Si is only available as a sedan and produces 200 HP out of its 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder engine, which of course comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition, the Civic Hybrids can make use of the regenerative braking system with 4-levels available to use through sport paddles. Handling overall has been improved by better spring and damper tuning. The Honda Civic is well equipped, it comes standard with full LED headlights, auto-high beams, automatic climate control, push-button start, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. The Sport trim adds some exterior styling finishes like a black window trim and dark headlamps, 18-inch aluminum wheels, remote start, proximity keyless entry, Sport drive mode, leather steering and shift-knob, paddle shifters, and an 8-speaker sound system. The Sport Hybrid trim adds one touch power moonroof, cruise control with stop-go function, leather steering wheel, and dual-zone climate control. The Sport Touring trim features 18-inch machined aluminum wheels, leather seating, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a wireless phone charger. The Si increases the power as compared to the rest of the lineup powered by the 1.5L turbo motor, with 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching downshifts, limited slip front differential, bigger brake discs for better braking, performance all-season tires, and Si sport seats. On the interior it has a 9-inch touchscreen which also comes standard, with a one touch moonroof, and the Bose speaker sound system. Safety continues to be paramount in the new Civic, with blind spot warning and rear collision warning on the sedan, hatchback and hybrid sport trims. The Civic still includes 10 airbags, low tire pressure warning, backup camera, and stability control. The Honda Sensing system is also standard, adding a suite of safety features that includes Lane Keep Assist which will monitor and can even nudge the vehicle back into its lane, forward collision mitigation that will detect an impending accident and can even apply the brakes in certain scenarios, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition, and driver attention monitor.
